The packages found in this section of the site are provided, maintained, and moderated by the community. Under Bring call window to the front, select On all calls for both Computer and Phone. Check the Mute audio by default for Jabber calls box. U-M does not support video calls at this time. Select the desired choice for the Ringer, Speaker, and Microphone. The audio is dependent on the device used (e.g., PC or headset). When not on the U-M Network, you must enable the U-M VPN for use on your machine using a faculty, staff, or student profile. If the application is not open when the number is called, the caller will be sent to voicemail (if one exists). Note: Jabber must be open to receive calls. Check the Start Cisco Jabber when the computer starts box. To configure your Jabber device, click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the application home and select Settings from the drop-down menu. If your password does not work, contact the ITS Telecommunications Analyst at Options. If asked about keeping the certification, click Keep. If your password fails, you will need to reset Jabber and repeat steps 3 through 11. Enter your password in the Password field. These credentials are your assigned softphone 10-digit phone number appended with (e.g., Click Continue. On the initial login/setup screen, enter the credentials provided to you by the ITS Telecommunications Analyst in the field. Important: Do not cut and paste the server address from the list. Enter the appropriate server name based on your campus in the Server address field:. Under Login server, select Use the following server. Under Select your account type, select Cisco Communications Manager 9 or later. Upon launch of the application, before entering credentials, click Advanced settings. (If Cisco is already installed, you will see a Repair or Remove option.) Open the file on your computer and follow the prompted installation instructions. Download the Cisco Jabber Installation file for Windows (i.e., "CiscoJabber-Install-ffr.14-0- 2.zip"). Note: If you are a MiWorkspace user, follow the process listed at MiWorkspace: Install Software/Manage Updates (Windows) to download Cisco Jabber from the Software Center (instead of following steps one and two laid out below).
